Solarwind Finland has sold its BESS battery storage project in Posio to NWES Oy

Solarwind Finland Oy has sold the battery energy storage system (BESS) project it developed in Raistakka, Posio to NorthWind Energystorage (NWES) Oy. The total output of the project is 25 MW, with a capacity of 50 MWh. The BESS system enables more efficient utilization of renewable energy and helps balance electricity supply and demand. As a result, the power grid can better withstand consumption peaks and production fluctuations, improving the reliability of energy delivery.

The project will enter the construction phase in early 2026. The system is scheduled to be connected to the electricity grid in 2027.
